Brandon Bolen

Brandon Bolen is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. He is a native Mississippian and received his PhD in economics from Mississippi State University in 2018. He has published in academic journals including Economic Inquiry, Public Choice, Southern Economic Journal, Kyklos, the Journal of Institutional Economics and the Journal of Sports Economics. Additionally, he authored three book chapters in Promoting Prosperity in Mississippi.

Brandon also provides econometric and statistical consulting to the financial industry as a consultant for Premier Insights, Inc. He specializes in fair lending and current expected credit loss (CECL) compliance. Brandon serves as a contributing fellow at the Mississippi Center for Public Policy and works with the Mississippi Council on Economic Education to increase economic and financial literacy in Mississippi.

As an undergraduate student, Brandon played basketball at Mississippi State University from 2007-2011 where he was named to the Southeastern Conference Men’s Basketball Community Service Team (2011) and the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll (2007-2011).
